This report presents the issues and recommendations discussed at the workshop UNEP and CGIAR Co-operation on Data, Capacity Building and Networking Needs for the Use of Geographic Information Systems in Agricultural Research held in Arendal, Norway during May 9-11, 1995. The workshop is one of the first major activities related to a Norwegian Government-funded project aimed at establishing long-term co-operative links between UNEP and CGIAR networks to compile, distribute, and maintain high quality natural resource and socio-economic datasets in agricultural research activities. Also included in the report are a list of the workshop participants and the workshop programme.
