This major work presents a biosystematic analysis of wild potatoes of Peru. It represents more than three decades of the work by the author in the International Potato Center. In addition to a description of the taxa, the book includes drawings of the various species, floral dissections, habitat photos and distribution maps. The distinguished artist and plant pathologist, Dr. Franz Frey, made the watercolor paintings.

The State of Food Insecurity in the World 2009 presents the latest statistics on global undernourishment and concludes that structural problems of underinvestment have impeded progress toward the World Food Summit goal and the first Millennium Development Goal hunger reduction target. 

A compendium of all the website's main dossiers during 2008 is now available. The book and accompanying CD-ROM examine a wide range of ACP trade issues, including a region-by-region look at Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs), the World Trade Organization agreement on agriculture and CAP reform. Other chapters deal with trade issues affecting fisheries and specific commodities including bananas, beef, cereals, sugar, cotton, coffee, cocoa, tea, fruit and vegetables, rice and oilseeds.

Roots and tubers already make a substantial contribution to providing food and alleviating poverty in the developing countries. This 2007 CIP Annual Report presents some of our more successful shorter-and longer-term initiatives.
