This authoritative Agreement is intended to increase the safety of international transport of dangerous goods by road. Regularly amended and updated since its entry into force, it contains the conditions under which dangerous goods may be carried internationally. This version has been prepared on the basis of amendments applicable as from 1 January 2011.

The UNEP Year Book 2010 is the seventh report on our changing environment produced by the United Nations Environmental Programme. The report, "Environment Outlook in the Amazonia - GEO Amazonia", the main product of the assessment for the Amazon Basin that has been implemented by UNEP and the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO), with technical help of Universidad de Pacifico (UoP) and the project's Technical Committee, which is consisted of leading organizations and institutions from all eight Amazonian countries, and those that are known for their technical expertise over Amazonian environmental and socio-economic issues.

This report and its findings are based on field work by a team of international experts deployed by UNEP following its Governing Council’s Decision 25/12 in February 2009, requesting UNEP to assess the environmental damage and carry out an economic evaluation of the rehabilitation and restoration of the environment in the Gaza Strip following the escalation of hostilities in December 2008 and late January 2009.
