This book is designed to enable policy and decision makers, policy analysts, and other actors involved in policy making processess to appreciate the full value of Integrated Policymaking in its environmental, social and economic dimensions. It draws on decades of experience acquired by UNEP and other organizations in sustainablilty-motivated policy assessment and interprets these in the light of recent advances in public policy science.

UNEP, with the support of the UK Government, is following up a key recommendation of the UN Marrakech Process meeting in Costa Rica (2005) to develop International Guideli nes for Developing, Implementing and Monitoring National Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP).
