The objective of this report is to assist financiers in better understanding the mineral development process from exploration, through development to mine closure and land reclamation, and to inform them of all related risks.

The Internet Reporting Report is not simply a survey of corporate reporting over the Internet. It begins to explore some of the ways in which virtuality will drive - or impede - the sustainability transition. But the central question addressed is whether the Internet will spur new forms of accountability. Some reporting companies have experimented with novel IT formats for their reports, including diskettes and CD-ROM. Broadly, these have not been a great success. But anyone who thinks of the Internet as just one more format option needs to think again. Treating the Web as an electronic blackboard to educate outsiders is courting disaster.
