Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation
The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) was established in 1983 under the Lome Convention between the ACP (African, Caribbean and Pacific) Group of States and the European Union Member States. Since 2000, CTA has operated within the framework of the ACP-EC Cotonou Agreement.
During the CTA Annual Seminar which took place in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from 26 to 31 October 2008, the impact of climate change on the agricultural sectors of ACP countries was discussed in terms of its effects on the productivity of cropping and agro-pastoral systems, and its impacts on the biophysical and socio-economic structure of rural life.
Au cours du séminaire annuel du CTA qui a eu lieu à Ougadougou (Burkina Faso) du 26 au 31 octobre 2008, l’impact du changement climatique sur l’agriculture dans les pays ACP a été analysé au travers des effets observés sur la productivité des systèmes culturaux et agropastoraux, tout comme sur les structures biophysiques et socioéconomiques de la vie rurale.
