A guide to sources of technologies, equipment and products that reduce or eliminate ODS in aerosol, sterilants, miscellaneous uses and carbon tetrachloride applications. This is part of a 6-volume sourcebook series designed to help Article 5 countries with identifying and selecting appropriate technical option.

This is the second volume in a series of books recording the results of studies on the impact of climate change on the ecological systems and socio-economic structures of the Mediterranean region. Incorporating the detailed results of five entirely new case studies, the book explores the likely effect of climate change on eleven vulnerable sites along the Mediterranean coastline and the available options to avoid, mitigate or adapt to these foreseeable impacts.

This study is the product of a co-operative venture between the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) and the international Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). UNRISD was requested by UNEP to prepare an annotated bibliography and a literature review of the principal issues concerning the social dimensions of desertification, as a contribution to the international workshop, "Listening to the People", organized by UNEP, in December 1993.
